Eliezer Felix is one of the youngest Artisans to become part of Alma Azul. Just as Brunildo Espinosa, his mentor, Eliezer grew up in the small town of Las Matas de Farfan and comes from a family of local farmers. In 2001 Brunildo Espinosa’s brother suggested him to take Eliezer to Santo Domingo with him and train him on the art of making jewelry as he was not enthusiastic about farming. This is when Eliezer was introduced to what he calls today one of his passions. He was trained by Brunildo and worked for him for many years, now he is an independent jewelry maker who is very thankful to his mentor for given him the tools and knowledge for the craft.
He has now a family of his own and lives in the small town of Bahoruco, his goal is give his little daughter a better life, good education and hopes to build a house for them in the near future.

Where does your jewelry come from?
Larimar Handmade Jewelry is the first product that Alma Azul represents. The jewelry is made in the communities of Bahoruco and La Cienega, located south of Barahona in the Dominican Republic. The local Artisans create Larimar jewelry with stones sourced from the local mine.
